Special Stitches

Beginning Puff Stitch
Ch 3, 3 dc in st, drop loop from hook, insert hook in 3rd chain of ch 3 and in dropped loop, yarn over and pull through both loops.

Puff Stitch
4 dc in st, drop loop from hook, insert hook in first dc and dropped loop, yarn over and pull through both loops.

Instructions:

With Colour A, ch 5, sl st in 1st ch to join.

Rnd 1: Beg puff st, *(ch 3, puff st), rep from * 2 more times, ch 3, sl st in beg puff st.

Rnd 2: Sl st next sp. Beg puff st, ch 3, puff st, ch 3 all in same space. *(puff st, ch 3, puff st, ch 3, in next sp), rep from * 2 more times. Sl st in beg puff st.  End Colour A.

Rnd 3: Join Colour B with sl st in any ch 3 space.  Work first corner as follows: ch 5 (counts as 1 dc and ch 2 throughout), 3 dc in first sp. *[3 dc in next sp, (3 dc, ch 2, 3 dc in next sp-corner made)], rep from * around except in last corner, 2 dc, sl st to 3rd ch of beg ch 3.

Rnd 4: Sl st in ch 2 sp, work first corner as follows: ch 5, 3 dc, ch 1 in first sp. *[(3 dc, ch 1 between the next 2 3 dc groups, (3 dc, ch 2, 3 dc, ch 1 in next corner)] rep from * around except in last corner work 2 dc, sl st to 3rd ch of beg ch 3.  End Colour B.

Rnd 5: Join Colour C with sl st in any corner, ch 5, 2 dc in same sp, *[(dc in each dc and ch 1 sp), (2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc) in each corner], rep from * around,  except in last corner, work 1 dc, sl st to 3rd ch of beg ch 5.

Rnd 6:  Sl st to ch 2 sp, ch 5, 2 dc, ch 1 in same sp, *[skip next dc, (dc in next dc, ch 1) to corner, (2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc in corner), ch 1] rep from * to last corner, dc in ch 2 sp, join with sl st to 3rd ch of beg ch 5.

Rnd 7: Repeat Rnd 6

Rnd 8: Sl st to ch 2 sp, ch 5, 2 dc in same sp, *[(dc in each dc and ch 1 space), (2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc) in each corner], rep from * around, except in last corner, work 1 dc, sl st to 3rd ch of beg ch 5. End Colour C.

Rnd 9: Join colour A with sl st in any corner, ch 5, 2 dc in same space, *[skip next dc, (dc in next dc, ch 1) to corner, (2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc in corner), ch 1] rep from * to last corner, dc in ch 2 space, join with sl st to 3rd ch of beg ch 5. End Colour A

Rd 10: Ch 5, 2 dc, ch 1 in same sp, *[skip next dc, (dc in next, ch 1, skip 1) to corner, (2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc in corner), ch 1] rep from * to last corner, dc in ch 2 sp, join with sl st  to 3rd ch of beg ch 5. End Colour A.

Rd 11: Join Colour B in any corner. *Ch 2, 2 hdc in corner, (hdc in each dc and ch-1 sp, 3 hdc in each corner), around, ending with sl st to beg ch 2.
