Instructions:

Special Stitches:
Starting corner cluster – ch 3 (counts as dc) 2 dc, ch 3, 3 dc all in same space.
Corner cluster – 3 dc, ch 3, 3dc all in corner ch 3 space.

Ch 5 join with sl st to from a ring

Rnd 1 – Ch 3 (counts as dc) 2 dc in ring, * ch 3, 3 dc in ring * repeat from * to * 2 times more. Join with sl st to top of starting dc.

Rnd 2 – Ch 3 (counts as dc) dc in each of next 2 dc. Work corner cluster. *Dc in each of next 3 dc. Work corner cluster.* Repeat from * to * 2 times more. Sl st to top of starting dc.

Rnd 3 – Sl st to next corner ch 3 space and work starting corner cluster. [Ch 3 skip 3 dc, *dc in each of next 3 dc, ch 3 skip 3dc* repeat from * to * until reaching corner ch 3 space. Work corner cluster.] Repeat [ ] 2 times more. Ch 3 skip 3 dc repeat from * to * until reaching the beginning dc. Sl st to top of beginning dc.

Rnd 4 – Ch 3 (counts as dc) dc in next 2 dc, work corner cluster. * dc in each dc and 3dc in each ch 3 space across to next corner ch 3 space. Work corner cluster.* Repeat from * to * 2 times more. Dc in each dc and 3dc in each ch 3 space to beginning dc. Sl st to top of beginning dc.

Work rounds 3 and 4 alternately until 12 inches. (It takes me 8 rounds. You may adjust hook size or tension to get the proper size or add rows of sc around to make the square the proper size)

Directions for changing colors. Fasten off at the end of an even number round. Attach new color with sl st to any corner ch 3 space and work starting corner cluster and continue rnd 3 instructions from that point.
