Materials

Worsted weight yarn:
Color A: white
Color B: blue
Color C: red
Crochet hook: size H or size needed for gauge
Tapestry needle for weaving ends
Skill level: easy

Special Stitches:

Puff Stitch: (Wrap yarn around hook, insert hook in stitch or space indicated and draw up a loop) three tines, yo and draw through all 7 loops on hook.

V- stitch: Dc, ch 1, dc all in the same stitch.

Back post double(bpdc): Yo, insert hook from back to front to back around post of st indicated and draw up a loop, (yo and draw through 2 loops) twice.

Directions:

With color C, ch 5, join with sl st to form a ring.

Rnd 1: (Puff st, ch 1) 8 times; join with sl st in top of first puff. Finish off color C.

Rnd 2: Join color A with sl st in any ch-1 sp, (ch 3, 2 dc, ch 3, 3 dc) in same sp, [ch 1, skip next sp, (3 dc, ch 3, 3 dc) in next sp], repeat between [ ] twice, ch 1; join with sl st to top of beg ch 3. Finish off color A.

Rnd 3: Join color B with sl st in any corner, [(puff st, ch 2, puff, ch 2, puff) in corner, ch 2, puff in ch-1 sp, ch 2], repeat between [ ] 3 times; join with sl st in top of first puff. Finish off color B.

Rnd 4: Join color C with sc in top of center puff of 3-puff group, 2 more sc in same st, [(2 sc in ch-2 sp, sc in puff) 3 times, 2 sc in sp, 3 sc in corner puff], repeat between [ ] 3 times, omitting last 3-sc corner; join with sl st to first sc. Finish off color C.

Rnd 5: Join color A with sl st in center of 3-sc corner, ch 4, (dc, ch 1) twice, dc in same st, [(skip next st, V-st) 6 times, skip next st, (dc, ch 1) 3 times, dc in same center sc], repeat between [ ] 3 times, omitting last corner; join with sl st in 3rd ch of beg ch 4. Finish off color A.

Rnd 6: Join color B with sl st in ch-1 sp between 2nd and 3rd dc of corner, ch 3, 2 dc in same sp, dc in next 3 sts, [*(bpdc, ch 1, bpdc) 6 times, dc in next 3 sts,* 3 dc in next ch-1 sp, dc in next 3 sts], repeat between [ ] twice, repeat between * *; join with sl st to top of beg ch-3. Finish off color B.

Rnd 7: With color C, sc in each dc around, skipping ch sts (20 sc on each side), working 3 sc in center sc of each 3-dc corner. Finish off and weave in ends.
