Squares Contest
- January 15th, 2005 - April 7th, 2005
Its time for the Annual HeartMade Blessings Squares
Contest!
1. The Contest will begin on January 15, 2005 and
all squares MUST be received by April 7, 2005.
2. All squares are to
be 12" in size. If you wish to do 4 6" squares and join them
together to make a 12" square that's fine too. It will be counted
as one (1) 12" square. All squares should have a 4" tail woven
in securely. DO NOT end off and cut the yarn at the knot. If you
do this, the square will pull apart and is not usable and will
not be counted. If you're not comfortable weaving in the ends,
leave a 6" tail and someone will weave it in for
you.
Please tag your squares with your name and location. You
can find links to tags for your squares here: http://www.heartmadeblessings.org/afghans/links.asp Go
to the bottom of the page. The links are located under Tags for
Squares.
Please include an email address so the receiver of
your squares can let you know they arrived.
3. Squares
can be any color or combination of colors and any pattern of
your choice. The only exception is solid black. We do not use
solid black squares in the comfort afghans, shawls, ponchos or
bearghans. If you do squares for Operation Purple Heart they
should be pure red, pure white (no soft white), royal blue or
navy blue. Or they can be any shade of purple pure white (no soft
white).
4. Prior to mailing your squares, send an email
to afghans@heartmadeblessings.org with
the number of squares you are entering and to which individual
listed in item #5 you are sending them to. Edith and I will
verify receipt of your squares by the individual as
well.
5. To help the keep the costs of postage down we have
several assemblers who have volunteered to receive the contest
entries. Choose the one closest to you to send your squares
to.
